Rio Ferdinand made a huge loss on his mansion in Alderley Edge that worth £3million.
Rio, who proposed to ex TOWIE star Kate Wright, 27, last month, once shared the home with his late wife Rebecca Ellison and their three children, before her death from cancer three years ago at the age of 34.
The Grade II-listed house comes with four acres of landscaped gardens overlooking meadowlands and a duck pond, as well as a tennis court, a two-bedroom cottage, a former brewery house and wine cellars.
The star and her husband of 52 years Paul Hunnings in turn moved into a new four-bedroom home in Henley with a separate cottage, gym, tennis court and an indoor swimming pool.
It cost £2.6million – £400,000 less than the original asking price.
In August 2018, singer and TV personality Dannii Minogue shaved off £90,000 off her minimalist two-bedroom Battersea apartment which has been her London base for thirteen years.
The former X Factor judge knocked the mighty price down from £675,000 to £585,000 after putting the spacious riverside home up for sale earlier this year.
In December 2016 footballer Raheem Sterling took his £1.2m Birkdale, Merseyside mansion off the market after failing to find a buyer for over a year.
The home originally went on the market for £1.5m in August 2015 but the price was slashed to £1.2m – £50k less than he paid – in March of that year.
And reality stars Dawn and Ashley Ward have been struggling to sell their £14.5m mansion in Warford Hall in affluent Alderly Edge for around five years.
