The Golden Globes Had been praised for diversity of Record but critisis say there ain’t enough color.

The Golden Globes has revealed one of its most diverse nominations lists yet, but some critics say the award show has snubbed female actors and directors.

In the two Best Picture categories at this year’s award show four out of the 10 nominated directors are people of color, a history-making record.

However, critics have pointed out that all the directors are male.

In the Best Picture-Drama category, four out of the five nominations tell the story of people of color. Three of those directors are also people of color including Spike Lee for BlacKkKlansman, Barry Jenkins for If Beale Street Could Talk, and Ryan Coogler for Black Panther.

In the Best Picture-Comedy category, only one director is a minority – Director Jon M. Chu nominated for Crazy Rich Asians.

While diversity is at the forefront in the Best Picture category, other say that this years’ nominations have snubbed women in the Best Director department.

Black Panther Was praised by Golden Globes

No female directors were nominated for the Best Picture Drama or Comedy categories.

In the competition for Best Director, all nominees are also male. They are Bradley Cooper for A Star Is Born, Peter Farrelly for Green Book and Adam McKay for Vice, and black director Spike Lee for BlacKkKlansman and Mexican director Alfonso Cuarón for Roma.
