West Brom 2-2 Liverpool: Salomon Rondon and Jake Livermore pull Baggies back from two goals down to keep faint Premier League survival hopes alive

Written by Mohammed Azeez

West Brom kept their faint Premier League survival hopes alive with a late comeback to claim a point against Liverpool.

Danny Ings gave the visitors a fourth minute lead for his first goal since October 2015 after latching onto a loose ball in the box and firing low beyond Ben Foster.

The Baggies put up a spirited response but were undone midway through the second-half when Mohamed Salah chipped beyond the goalkeeper after racing onto Alex Oxlade-Chamberlain’s through ball.

The hosts were given a lifeline when Jake Livermore scrambled home from close range after Loris Karius had saved from Craig Dawson’s initial shot before Salomon Rondon equalised, heading home Chris Brunt’s free-kick.
