James Corden has found You Can’t Always Get What You Want when it comes to his hit Carpool Karaoke sketch.
The TV funnyman was desperate to get the Stones to roll along with him, singing some of their biggest hits.
But the ageing band decided it would just be “embarrassing”.
Previous guests have included One Direction, Adele, Justin Bieber and Michelle Obama, who have all joined Corden for a 15-minute drive while singing and chatting in what has been a ratings sensation in America.
Corden’s team hoped the Stones would rock up next – but sources says Mick Jagger, Keith Richards, Ronnie Wood and Charlie Watts even ignored pressure from record label Polydor to do the show.
One insider explained: “James and his team were keen to get them to sign up to sign up for the segment as part of the promo for their new album – but there’s no swaying them.
